ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications online courses

Level 1 Amateur Radio Emergency Communications
EC-001

A basic course to raise awareness and provide additional knowledge and tools for any emergency communications volunteer. This course has 23 lesson units, is expected to take approximately 25 hours to complete over an 8-week period. Basic computer, Internet, and email navigational skills are required. Senior hams are encouraged to participate!

Each lesson consists of text, quiz questions, and Student Activities, which are required for successful completion. The course also includes an online 25 question Final Assessment. A score of 80% is required to pass. Every student is assigned a mentor/instructor to review student activities, guide him/her through the course and determine when all course requirements have been successfully completed.

Cost: $50.00 (ARRL Member), $85.00 (Nonmember)

IS-700 NIMS: An Introduction

NIMS ICS-300, Intermediate Incident Command System, a classroom course, is also highly recommended, but not required. Throughout this course you will find additional FEMA courses that are referenced as preparation for topics within the course. The additional courses required are the following:
